This selective guidebook describes the best mountain, crags, sea cliff and sport climbing in southern Scotland. Volume 1 (of 2) describes the crags up to the natural demarcation of the Great Glen.  It includes routes in Isle of Arran, The Arrochar Alps, Isles of Mull & Iona, Glen Coe & Glen Etive, Ardgour, Ardnamurchan, Ben Nevis, Glen Nevis, Central Highlands, The Cairngorms, and Easter Ross. Around 2,000 routes are described, from Diff to high E grade routes for the trad routes, and from F3 to F9a for the sport routes.

The layout is clear with access and logistics for each area described, along with a brief history, and clear maps. There are overview photos of crags that show the approach and descent routes. All the routes are illustrated on colour photo topos along with detailed route descriptions. 

Published by Pesda Press in September 2024 this revised 3rd edition contains around 270 more routes than the previous edition.
